'In times like this, we need to make the people happy, that is our most important mission at the moment,' Marco Giannantonio from Pinocchio certainly knows how to provide the right kind of hospitality at the right time, from his unassuming Italian café-r...estaurant in Ranelagh village. On a further mission to bring a little fantasy back into our love affair with Italian food, Marco knows better than to attempt this by bigging up what they do. No, instead the all-Italian team let the produce do the talking. Don't be surprised by some unexpected touches though. Yes that is a drop of brandy in the Penne Ferrari (€13,90), and yes, it does make you smile. Try other popular favourite, stinco di maiale al rosmarino (€ 21,90), oven cooked pork shank with rosemary and marsala wine served with grilled vegetables, for another argument for this Luas-stop lovely. Pinocchio also provide a plethora of value-added eventsto keep interest among regular diners and new visitors alike. Throughout December, the multitude of special evenings: music, classes,and Christmas parties have us squirming to try to come up with a better Italian foodie destination this month in Dublin. The bruschetta was originally just plain bread, rubbed with garlic, toasted and served with extra virgin olive oil.
It became really successfull all around the world combined with tomatoes.
To get a perfect bruschetta remember that the grill doesn't have to be very hot, the bread has to be crunchy, not burnt.

A Lasagne in Dublin that's good enough to serve to a genuine, bona fide Italian mamma?There can't be many. But in Pinocchio in Ranelagh (under Luas stop - handy, right?), Carlo Santilenni and his all-Italian team make this dish so well that even his mother can't complain.

Well, she did offer some 'tips", but Carlo reckons it's a mother's job to do that, no matter how good the meal is. 'A litile bit of care makes all the difference" he tells us over a glass of wine, while chef Alex puts the finishing touches on in the kitchen.
